The Contented Watched Pot at Christmas

I’m sure we can all relate to the other names…

My ‘watched pot’ has been quietly residing,  beckoning, almost daring me to do my clean-up bit.  It’s been there for over a week now—surrealism run amuck.

In the past, I would have run into the house, grumbling, as I hurried to the all important household tool closet, thrown open the door, and immediately returned to the scene of the crime, arms overflowing with my little helpers.

Something stopped me even before I opened the door. I actually heard myself  ask this question.;  “Is this really important?”

Yoga teaches us to take our awareness inside and see ourselves as we truly are with new strength and courage. It teaches us how to use our own breath (Life Force), in a healing way. In the practice of Contentment, it gives us a clear choice. Are we going for conflict or peace of mind? It gives us focus and strength of resolve and  teaches us to accept the past, live in the present and plan for our futures with confidence and trust.

Just a simple question, “Is this really important?”  Let it unfold for you as we celebrate this festive season.

Now let’s get back to our little pot…

Now this is much better!  What do you think?

Love from Lynne
