Your experience of yoga is only understood by another yogi. Try to explain what yoga gives you to your family. They might smile and nod, or perhaps frown and shake their heads wonderingly. I always loved to sing the blues. The blues made me feel alive somehow, the words and tunes voicing the pain I lived in. The blues made me able to find myself in the pain.
